Financial Advisor Jeremy Keating and Capital Income Advisors Announce ciaWOMEN Initiative
According to a recent 2013 study from Allianz Life Insurance Company of

Keating says the ciaWOMEN approach begins with addressing some of the major challenges that many women face when it comes to managing their wealth, including the need to create a vision for their future. Keating helps them determine what is most important to them, and from there works with his female clients to create a wealth design, a customized plan for the future, and a path to pursue making the most of the wealth they have accumulated during their lifetime.
"Our focus is on helping women achieve their financial goals by increasing their returns, minimizing taxes and expenses, mitigating risk and coping with life changes," Keating says. "We partner with women who want to take control of their wealth--including women in transition (for example divorcees, widows and those preparing for retirement) as well as entrepreneurs and professionals who want to take a more active role in their finances."
By actively listening to the concerns of their female clients,
By becoming a part of the ciaWOMEN community, women can also connect with other like-minded peers, learn more about financial issues and become even more empowered in managing their financial future.
The study results have implications that should serve as a wake-up call to financial institutions that have traditionally failed to serve women as well as they serve men. A major part of the
Among the married women surveyed, 33 percent had been through a divorce and 42 percent of the divorced women surveyed had not remarried. One in five women cohabitated with a partner to whom were not married, and of that group 33 percent were in a same sex relationship. Some women had elderly parents or adult children living with them, some were single mothers, and there were single women without children surveyed who worry about who will take care of them as they age. With so many different concerns, marketing financial services to women as though they are married and happily living off of their husband's income is no longer acceptable.
An additional take away that the financial industry needs to acknowledge is the potential for women to become active, participating clients, but so far women continue to be underserved by a majority of financial institutions. While the traditional dynamics of the "average" family have changed, women's financial concerns have also changed and the industry has been sluggish to catch up. Keating says that
Overall, 90 percent of the women who participated in the survey felt they should be more involved in their financial planning. According to the study, there is a very real fear among women of all income brackets that they will one day become penniless, homeless "bag ladies."
"Women prefer strong relationships, and feeling that their financial advisor cares about their future is important to them," Keating says. We developed the ciaWOMEN initiative to provide strategies and services that meet these needs, with the aim of empowering them to enjoy taking control of their financial future."
