Insurance claim scheme to set a vehicle on fire leads one to plead guilty, two others bound over for trial

Crum testified that he received a call from Landrum on
Crum picked up Landrum from Major's home, and they later arrived to the vehicle. He acted as the get-away driver after Landrum set the vehicle to a blaze. He said Landrum poured gasoline all over the inside of the vehicle and ignited it, but the flames "flashed" into Landrum's face, burning his chest, hands and face.
Gasoline was later found in the cup holder of the vehicle and pools of it in the car by Patrol Deputy
Crum initially told investigators conflicting stories about how the vehicle was set on fire, who set the vehicle on fire, and what role Major played, but he eventually told them it was to help Major out so she can file an insurance claim.
"Eventually I came out with the truth because I'm a bad liar," Crum said.
Major filed an insurance claim with Geico in October, but after three conversations with
Det.
The loan originated from
Jennings said he later received information from Landrum in a separate interview, and Landrum told him Major came to see him after her vehicle was burned.
Sentencing for Crum is scheduled at
