Caregiver accused of taking Windber couple's money, jewelry
Borough police allege Byer was working as a caregiver for a husband and wife when she stole money, medication and jewelry
Police said the man reported a prescription for 60 oxycodone tablets for his wife was filled in
The man told police that on two occasions Byer asked him to open his safe so she could have access to her "portfolio."
On both occasions money was taken.

Byer was charged Friday with one count each of insurance fraud, forgery and a drug violation.
Drug agents said the woman was receiving care from a doctor after a knee injury and received a prescription for oxycodone. Byer allegedly stole blank prescriptions and used them to obtain 1,560 oxycodone pills, agents said.
