CRACKING DOWN ON STOP ARM VIOLATIONS
Parents, principals, public motorists and bus drivers have also been involved, including reporting complaints to the schools. They get tag numbers and vehicle and driver descriptions, officials said. This enables troopers to investigate stop arm complaints that have occurred but not in front of the trooper on the scene.
So far, troopers have had eight of those complaints in the past few months, four of whom have been charged with a passing a stopped school bus violation. If convicted, that charge carries five points on a person's driving record. It's the only charge other than aggressive driving that carries the same amount of points.
