According to a police report from the
Nordstrom told police that she had not consumed any alcohol that day, according to the report. Officer
Ferrell then met with Perez, a nurse, who reportedly told police that she "strongly believed Nordstrom had been drinking," according to the police report. Perez told police that Nordstrom had dumped out a drink prior to the arrival of police to the scene. Officer Ferrell stated in the report that he found a splash pattern with ice cubes on the driver's side of Nordstrom's vehicle. According to the police report, Ferrell picked up an ice cube and "immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage."
Ferrell asked Nordstrom to meet with him in private accompanied by two other officers, identified in the report as Officer Poenitske and Sgt. Murphy. During this meeting, Ferrell "advised she (Nordstrom) was not being truthful about her alcohol consumption." Nordstrom then admitted to police that she had consumed vodka and two glasses of wine that morning.
