Art Jetter Receives NAILBA Mooers Award
(Fairfax, Va.)—The National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA) tonight presented Arthur C. Jetter, CLU, CFP, RHU, FLMI, REBC, LTCP, president of Art Jetter & Company with its 2014 Douglas Mooers Award for Excellence.
The annual award, NAILBA's most coveted and prestigious accolade, honors distinction in brokerage and is bestowed upon the individual most committed to furthering independent life brokerage as a distribution system, and who demonstrates an exemplary record of community service. Jetter was recognized at a special awards dinner held November 20, 2014, as part of the association's annual meeting, NAILBA 33.
In presenting the award, Raymond S. Phillips, Jr, CLU, LTCP, NAILBA Immediate Past Chairman, noted that Jetter's "positions of leadership and recognitions of his industry service are nothing short of phenomenal. "
Jetter has been in the life insurance industry for over 40 years and has served in a wide variety of volunteer leadership positions for many organizations, including a year in service as the Chairman of NAILBA.
Beginning his career in 1974 as an agent for Guarantee Mutual Life Insurance Company, he specialized in financial planning and business insurance. Founded in 1979, his agency, Art Jetter and Company, has developed into one of the most recognizable agencies in the brokerage business. As his business grew, so did his commitment to giving back to the industry. He was President of the National Association of Health Underwriters where he was recognized with the NAHU Man of the Year Award, the Harold Gordon Award, and the Spirit of Freedom Award. He's received the Mass Marketing Institute person of the year award. He's served on the Board of Life Happens (formerly the LIFE Foundation) and on the Board of Directors of The Marketing Alliance where he was recognized with their Billy Vogel Award.
Phillips observed, "Perhaps his commitment to serving has its roots in his service to our country." In the Vietnam War, Jetter was a Captain and Section Commander of a Cobra Gunship Helicopter flying over 1,000 missions and earning both the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. Currently, he benefits his fellow veterans by serving on the Board of the Wounded Warriors Support Group in Omaha as well as remaining active and committed to many other Vietnam War veteran groups and organizations. Jetter is also a devoted and committed husband, father and grandfather.
Art Jetter is "is universally known, respected and appreciated. I am honored, humbled and thankful to be the person to present him with the Mooers Award," said Phillips.
