Council tables pay hike for officials

The panel had been set to vote on pay hikes for the city's managers last week but decided to table the matter for 30 days after learning that the proposed increases amounted to 7.5 percent for the city administrator, superintendent of public works, and fire and police chiefs; the tabled ordinance called for 5 percent increases for other nonunion staff.
