No claim payment for Smithville water tower paint damage

Last winter, during periods of extremely cold weather, the paint on the tank cracked. During council's
McDowell said when he heard about the water tower problems and the insurance claim, he said he did not think there was much hope.
"There was going to be no coverage for this," he said he thought at the time.
But, McDowell said, he started looking into the issue at the request of the village. While the insurance provider,

While weather was to blame, McDowell said CORSA cited an engineering study conducted by PEP Ohio that determined there were defects with the primer coat put on the tank three years ago.
Since the chipping partially was due to weather and partially due to improperly applied primer, McDowell said the representative thought a payment was appropriate.
"I was glad to hear that because it gave me something to go back to PEP (
McDowell said he contacted PEP Ohio with the goal of getting a partial payment for the village.
"Bottom line, it was not successful," he said.
Continuing in his efforts, McDowell said, he contacted the paint manufacturer, Tnemec Paint. He said the representative he spoke to was "in agreement with the insurance company."
McDowell said the paint is flexible, but only to a certain point. If not all the paint is removed from the surface, the new paint is susceptible to cracking. He said this does not mean
"If we had another road to go down, I'd offer to do that," McDowell said, adding he thought the village was at the end of the line.
