The junior went up to make a play on a ball, fell hard to the ground and got the wind knocked out of him, causing him to briefly exit the game. Valley View quickly took advantage and tied the game, seemingly shifting the momentum.
But North Pocono kept its composure and it paid off.
"Just be patient, that was our halftime speech," coach
"But I thought we played great in the second half. We finally came together and started to string together some passes. We started to get better control in the last 15-20 minutes of the game and I think that's what made all the difference."
North Pocono (6-2) got the first break of the game in the 18th minute when Valley View (6-2-1) was whistled for a foul inside the 18-yard box, setting up a penalty kick.
"That was absolutely a huge momentum switch, especially how much Valley View was taking it to us in the first half," Davis said. "Getting that in was huge because you knew they were going to come out after us in the second half."

But in the 62nd minute, Lougee was injured and taken off the field for evaluation. The Cougars finally got the goal they were looking for one minute later.
Standing near midfield,
"It was definitely a downer but we just playing through it," Lees said. "Pushing through adversity, it's tough to do but we just kept our heads up and we just kept playing."
The Trojans kept their attack going and regained the lead in the 68th minute. Matthew Zero sprinted down the right sideline, crossed-in a pass to a crashing Lees, who got his foot on it and put it in the net for the lead.
North Pocono then got the insurance goal it needed in the 70th minutes. Lees' direct kick into the box ricochetted out to
"We're definitely pumped for the win but we just have to keep playing," Lees said. "We just have to be consistent and just keep winning."
