FIELD HOCKEY: Host Falcons fly to to Fall Classic title

One, on the occasions when host Cedar Crest scored, it was almost always via a penalty corner play.
And two, when the Falcons sent the ball flying into the back of the cage, someone named Maddie had something to do with it.
A trio of Maddies -- Royer, Barron, Gable -- combined for four goals and three assists as Cedar Crest routed

But the class of the latest Falcon Fall Classic was unquestionably Maddie-led Cedar Crest and its back-to-back dominating shutouts.

"The first game, our corners were a little rough," Risser said with a chuckle. "The second game, we figured some things out, moved some kids around. The kids stepped up and things finally came together."
The stepping up continued after the break, with Gable giving Crest a 3-0 lead with 26:07 left by slamming home Barron's corner insert.
Gable then returned the favor by setting up Hombach for Crest's fourth straight penalty-corner score with 3:55 left, and Royer made it a fifth straight Maddie-related goal by scoring via an
"We have a lot of Maddies, so that's not surprising," Risser said with a laugh. "And that's awesome, that's the fun stuff for a team. They're great."
The Falcons certainly were on Saturday.
"We're just having trouble scoring," Felty said. "We've been talking about it, and someone's gotta just step up and decide they want to score."
Fortunately for
"We can't be satisfied with that, though," said Felty. "We can't just let up. You can't put a team away when you're like that."
