One of the more unique houses on the tour is that owned by the Benos. Built in 1909, the couple remodeled their kitchen in 2009 for the main reason of expanding the space they had to deal with since purchasing their home in 1999.
"It was so small and we knew we needed more space, including more pantry space,"
Her husband did all of the kitchen work on his own, which explains why it took about a year to complete. But he worked on it in pieces because "we still continued to live in it," Susan said.
"We lived in it for a long time and that's how we knew we couldn't live in it that way."
One item now in their kitchen that both Susan and John are very proud of is a Sellers Cabinet, still with the original stenciling on it, built in the late 1920s. Susan's parents had found the cabinet in the basement of their
