Financial education day shows students the ‘real world’

What many students don't realize is how much everything costs,
"It really enlightens them on the choices that are out there and the possibilities of what they can do," Calvelage said. Students learn about the differences in careers when they get a degree or don't get a degree, they learn how much children cost, they learn how much it takes to have a car or use public transportation, they learn the pros and cons of renting versus owning, among other things, Calvelage said.
Junior
Calvelage's goal for each of the students is to have each of them have an "a-ha" moment about something they learn, she said.
The event drew in about 400 students, a typical number for the event, from Allen East schools,
