Maxbauer’s owners push for November re-opening

"It's a complicated job that has required an incredibly detailed bid, and getting the bid fine-tuned is taking much longer than we anticipated," Stephanie said. "In the meantime, there's a whole community of people who need us. We're not going to just sit here closed while all of that number-crunching takes place."

The Wilson's insurance covers employees' pay for 60 days, but that expires Friday, Mark said.
The couple is determined to get the business back up and running, even if that means rolling up their sleeves before insurance payouts are set in stone.
"We were lucky enough to have a friend in the construction business who was willing to start work before there was an agreed upon price with our insurance company," Stephanie said. "We are confident that what we're doing now is absolutely necessary and reasonable with the circumstances."
