After taking a 4-3 lead after two, the Lightning had a chance for a big inning in the third. The first six hitters of the inning reached base and three runs scored and Legacy was able to chase Nelson out of the pitcher's circle.

But if Gaffin -- ever the risk-taker as a coach -- had to do it over again, rest assured it might very well have happened the same way.
"If we don't take chances like that now and learn now, then when it comes time for state then we won't be able to do it," said Gaffin, who doesn't have six rings by accident. "I know I have people in the stands questioning things. Whatever, question me.
"But my point is, is that it is a learning process and some times you have to get your butt kicked to learn and you have to try things and how far can I push it and how much havoc can I create on this field and how can I create it. I'd rather have them over aggressive right now than too scared to play."
