Highlights of selected legislation covered in the newly updated protocol include:
• The "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Regulations 2012, S.I. 2012 No. 3038", replace the "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Regulations 2005". These Regulations provide the framework for a greenhouse gas emissions trading scheme for the purpose of implementing "Directive 2003/87/EC", as amended. The Regulations prescribe requirements for controlling emissions of carbon dioxide from listed activities and set forth rules for the interpretation of emissions from activities.

• The "Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR), S.I. 2013 No. 1471", revoke and replace, with amendments, the "1995 "RIDDOR". The new regulations simplify the reporting requirements including: replacing the list of "major injuries" with a shorter list of "specified injuries"; replacing the schedule of 47 types of industrial diseases with 8 categories of reportable work-related illnesses; and requiring fewer types of "dangerous occurrence" reporting. In addition, new guidance concerning the "RIDDOR" entitled, "A brief guide to the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR)" was issued by the Health and Safety Executive.
• The "Biocidal Products and Chemicals (Appointment of Authorities and Enforcement) Regulations 2013, S.I. 2013 No. 1506", appoint the national authorities in relation to "Regulation (EU) No 649/2012" of the European Parliament and of the Council of
• The "Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations 2012, S.I. 2012 No. 1657", transpose "Directive 2009/128/EC" of the European Parliament and of the Council Establishing a Framework for Community Action to Achieve the Sustainable Use of Pesticides" and provide enforcement provisions. They include requirements for the use and storage of plant protection products.
