New members join NCMH board

Paysinger will be assigning the new board members to one of the Hospital Board Committees starting in August. The members will be joining the board's monthly meetings beginning next month.
Net patient revenue was
Total acute inpatient discharges were 0.7 percent under budget but 5.1 percent over prior year. Total acute patient days were 6.3 percent over budget and 7.9 percent over last year. Inpatient surgeries were 3.2 percent over budget and even with last year.
Outpatient surgeries were 15 percent over budget and 30.5 percent over the previous year. Endoscopies were 27.1 percent over budget and 85.4 percent over prior year. Emergency Room visits were 2.9 percent under budget but 2.1 percent over last year. Outpatient visits were 4.7 percent under budget but three percent over prior year.
Total discharges for NCMH are down 3.3 percent year to date from last year. Total patient days are up two percent year to date from the prior year, while inpatient surgeries are up 11.6 percent year to date.
Outpatient surgeries are down 9.4 percent year to date and endoscopies are up 6.2 percent. Outpatient visits are down three percent year to date from last year.

-- As part of improving their patient experience scores, NCMH has continued to execute a hospital-wide customer driven training and education program. This training will be held during the months of July and August and focus on patient experience scores, culture within the organization, how to initiate service recovery before the patient and family are discharged and setting leader/employee expectations.
-- This month NCMH will began their facility wide "Customer Service Training" program. The program will focus on how, why, and when we will perform the exceptional service we have all committed to. The training will be required of all anyone working in the organization and will be taught during new hire orientation.
-- The hospital's patient satisfaction scores improved for the month of May. NCMH scored in the 90th percentile or greater in communication with nurses, communication about medications, discharge information, pain management and quietness of the hospital.
