They had finished unpacking the last of their moving boxes and belongings just hours before the fire struck.
Staehle, who was unable to be reached by deadline Tuesday, has been unable to find housing in the downtown area since the fire and will be returning to a local homeless shelter, according to Sheehan, who has remained in touch with his tenant since she became displaced.
"She grew up next to some railroad tracks and loved it," Sheehan said of Staehle renting his property where the train trestle is just feet away from the roof of the home. He said he's willing to rent to Staehle and her four children again once he is able to rebuild and if they are still in need of housing.

A non-smoker, Staehle said she had encountered Hoyt in her basement earlier that day, who had possibly gained access from the garage.
"He knew who was in that home. He knew there were kids in the home," Staehle said during an interview in April with Foster's Daily Democrat.
