The Indians got some insurance runs, as
Northeast committed two errors in the inning, allowing Mussmann to score, then
"That was pretty exciting," Mussmann said of the double. "I was really pumped up; hitting is contagious in a way, so once I started that, and it was boom, boom, boom."
Not only did Mussmann spark the late rally, she also threw a complete game two-hitter.
Northeast got a leadoff hit from Aleenah Marcucci in the first inning, then a single in the fourth inning from No. 5 hitter
"We knew if we could keep her off the bases, they were going to struggle to score runs," Camanche coach
Mussmann knew that Marcucci would be a tough assignment.
"We know that she's going to either bunt most of the time or swing away, so when she did, I usually go high and outside," Mussmann said. "Whenever she bunts, we're in pretty close, ready to get her out."
Marcucci, who ranks 17th in the entire state with a .563 batting average, was 1-for-3 and did not get on base following her leadoff hit.

Northeast scored its run in the fourth inning on the Carder single after
"We switched up pitchers in the middle of the game, and once they got to her 2-0, we decided to make the move," Eversmeyer said.
Northeast turned to
Every time the Indians return to the dugout from the field, in the huddle they chant "Aflac" as a way to remind themselves to keep scoring "insurance" runs. The Indians, carry around a stuffed duck named Herman that wears a fireman's suit to remind them to keep scoring.
