Dolman Law Group is proud to announce that Daryl Ervin Rouson, Esq., has joined the Dolman team. Mr. Rouson also represents the 70th district in the Florida House of Representatives.
Mr. Rouson has long been a community pillar in the Tampa Bay area and an advocate for diversity. In 1981, he became the first African-American assistant state attorney in Pinellas County. He was president of the St. Petersburg branch of the N.A.A.C.P. from 2000-2005. During his tenure as president, Mr. Rouson called for a fair share agreement for African-American and other minority contractors in the $41 million rebuilding of Gibbs High School, demanded minority representation on a cruise ship's board of directors, and made the St. Petersburg Times own up to their unfulfilled commitment to diversifying its board.
Mr. Rouson has also been voted as one of the area's most successful businessman by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. As an attorney, his successful lawsuit against a negligent land owner in poverty-stricken area led to a multi-million dollar investment into that community, the first of its kind in 30 years. In 2003, he was appointed as the first Chairman of the Substance Abuse and Addictions Task Force for the National Bar Association.
As a politician, Mr. Rouson has served on the Statewide Taxation and Budget Reform Commission, the Transition Teams of former attorney general and current governor, Charlie Crist, and will be in the incoming House Democratic Leader for 2014-2016.
Dolman Law Group is excited for the experience and determination Mr. Rouson brings to the firm. As an advocate for those who are often involved in legal action against corporate insurance giants, Mr. Rouson's experience in fighting for those in the minority against long standing institutions will help Dolman Law achieve its mission to provide excellent service to its clients. Mr. Rouson is an experienced litigator that provides an immediate impact to the firm.
