July 02--DUNCAN -- Duncan Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the 25 people slated to participate in Leadership Duncan Class XIX.
Of the group, four are employed by Duncan Public Schools, two work for Edwards Jones, two work for the Tilley Group, two work for Halliburton Energy Services and three are employed by banks. Other businesses and organizations throughout the community are also represented by this year's class.
"We've got some good candidates this year," Sandy Stewart, director of investor services for the Chamber, said.
The leadership class provides people in the community an opportunity to learn about their community while developing their leadership skills. Although many have been leaders in their businesses or in community groups, the leadership class helps them figure out what their strengths and weaknesses are as leaders.
Each year, the program is headed by leadership committee chairman Bill Gossett, who previously went through the Leadership Class. Stewart is also a graduate of the class, after spending time in Class XVI.
