Rodriguez said the CID can be used for the same things a normal identification card can be used for, including purchasing insurance and opening up a bank account.
"The one thing that makes us comfortable with (a CID), as a bank, is that we know exactly how the process works," he said. "They're very, very stringent with the documentation that's required, or they can't get it at all. ... It makes us really at ease with accepting it."
