June 04--MOORE -- The Moore Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon on the new physical therapy building located on the site of the former Moore Medical Center on May 27.
"Norman Regional Health System is excited to bring our rehabilitation services back to the community of Moore with the opening of our temporary physical therapy building," said Richie Splitt, vice president Moore Medical Center, Norman Regional Health System. "We are committed to providing our high-quality and trusted healthcare services back to Moore. And the opening of our physical therapy building is just another step forward to ensuring the community of Moore has convenient access to quality healthcare services."
Moore Medical Center was destroyed in last year's May 20 EF-5 tornado. The hospital was deemed a total loss by structural engineers and insurance adjusters. On the one year anniversary of the tornado, Norman Regional Health System broke ground on a new $29 million healthcare facility scheduled to open fall 2016 on the site of the former hospital.
