For Memorial (5-10, 3-6) it was a case of continued frustration at the plate that resulted in a sixth straight setback.
The Old Abes outhit Hudson 6-4 but stranded 12 baserunners, seven of them in scoring position.

"We had our chances again," Sparger said.
"Travis did a nice job pitching us out of trouble."
Hudson scored unearned runs in the first and fourth innings, getting only one hit in each frame, and added an insurance tally in the seventh as
Memorial had runners in every inning and threatened several times but couldn't come up with the key hit.

Two hit batters put two on in the seventh, but a runner trying to score from second on a wild pitch was thrown out at the plate. A ground out ended the Abes' final chance.
Hepfler went the first four innings, allowing four hits, while Frey gave up two hits in the final three innings. Both came through in the clutch.
"Pitching has been our most consistent facet all season," Huppert said. "We've struggled at the bat and need to improve. But we were able to execute on some of the mistakes they made."
An oddity in the game saw more hit batters than bases on balls. Hepfler and Frey hit five and Berg two for a total of seven, while there were only five walks issued.
Gonyea was the game's only batter to get more than one hit, getting a single and double.
