Erie Insurance Arena to get new, high-definition, video scoreboard

"It was one of those things that was deferred with the budget shortfalls. We deferred those things we could add later," Wells said. "The teams certainly expressed their desire for a new scoreboard. It enhances the patron experience, and it also provides revenue opportunities because it can be used for advertising."
"As much as we would have liked it to be part of the grand opening last year, the silver lining is we have a nice new piece to look forward to this year," Bresee said. "We feel like this is really the last major piece to finish off what's already a tremendous building in its own right."

"And it will be the right fit for the rest of the building now," Frey said. "The old scoreboard really didn't fit anymore."
