Las Crucen charged with falsifying document in order to cash worthless check

A few days after cashing the check, staff at Mr. Payroll learned that the insurance company had issued a stop-payment on the check.
Detectives learned that after the insurance company mailed the check, Lopez contacted the firm and requested the payment be made electronically, the release stated. The insurance company obliged, sent an electronic payment and issued a stop-payment on the check that was already in the mail.
In effect, Lopez collected twice on the same payment.
Detectives also learned that Lopez's father never gave power of attorney to his son, the release stated.
