Hernando aldermen approve sidewalk project easement funds

It's been a long wait for the sidewalk, but worth it, said the mayor.
"When you have a neighborhood that's close to a school but they have to run a bus because it's too unsafe to walk, something needs to be done," said Johnson.
On the flood matter, the city entered into the National Flood Insurance Program in 2007 and, with a seven-year cycle,

Under a 1973 federal act, flood insurance must be purchased by property owners seeking any federal financial assistance for construction or acquisition of buildings in special flood-hazard areas.
The National Flood Insurance Program offers such insurance to homeowners, renters and businesses if their community participates.
