The award also recognized SWRMC's safety risk management, including their hazard abatement efforts, trends, and mishap reduction efforts, which resulted in a 27 percent reduction in civilian mishap cases since 2012.
"Our robust safety programs not only benefit our workforce, but the taxpayers as well," said Campos. "There are costs associated with workplace occupational injuries and illnesses. When an employee is off work due to a workplace injury or illnesses, they are not working on our ships, which is our organization's mission."
SWRMC's mission is to provide superior ship maintenance and modernization to ships in the Pacific Fleet, who stand ready to fight and win.
