18 dumpsters stolen in embezzlement

Police took out warrants for 18 counts of embezzlement for
Alston, who was an employee of
Priority's owners said it was by coincidence that they even realized the dumpsters were missing.
"Our dumpsters are painted a different color for a reason," Watson said. "They are orange and you can spot them from a distance. I saw the dumpster and went in and asked about it."
Watson said he went inside and workers showed him the dumpster seller's identification. Showing ID is required when selling scrap metal under a newly adopted state law.
"When I was on the yard, I saw a few more of our dumpsters and things started making sense," Watson said.
"The missing dumpsters makes it difficult for the other guys to do their job," Watson pointed out. "One guy had to go to a business, pick up the dumpster to dump it and then bring that same dumpster back."
Regularly that job would have only been one trip instead of two, according to Terdik.
"To replace those dumpsters cost over
Watson and Terdik hope they can recover some of the dumpsters they found at the salvage yard.
"We learned we have to talk to each other a little more," Terdik said. "If we had taken time to slow down and talk to each other, we might have known about the missing dumpsters a little sooner."
