BRIEF: Perkasie sobriety checkpoint nets three DUI arrests

March 19--A sobriety checkpoint set up by police in Upper Bucks County over the St. Patrick's Day holiday weekend netted three drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Perkasie, Quakertown and Springfield Township police departments set up the sobriety checkpoint on Constitution Avenue in Perkasie Saturday night.
Police said 186 vehicles came through the checkpoint. In addition to the three drivers arrested on charges of driving under the influence, police also cited four others for public drunkenness.
Citations also were issued to two drivers with suspended licenses, two drivers with junior licenses, a driver without vehicle insurance and a driver without a valid vehicle inspection.
