According to the citation, Smith hid his motorcycle behind his great-grandmother's residence and hid inside his grandfather's house.
The citation further stated Smith eventually surrendered to police, but could not produce any paperwork for the motorcycle. Smith's operator's license was valid, but his motorcycle permit came up suspended.
Smith surrendered to police without further incident.
Smith was charged with speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit, reckless driving, no registration plates, no registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license, first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle).
