It's debatable if the fiduciary standard is 'higher' than suitability. But the better question might be, who's holding the bar?
CHICAGO, Dec. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Baird & Warner Good Will Network has donated more than $50,000 to Chicagoland charities this month, bringing the organization's total 2013 grants to almost $150,000 and total grants to almost $2 million. The nonprofits chosen to receive monetary gifts were submitted by Baird & Warner brokers and employees, then voted on by the entire company.
Of the more than $50,000 donation, $15,000 went to Hephzibah, $10,000 went to Almost Home Kids, and $8,500 went to Naperville Responds for our Veterans, House of the Good Shepherd and SOS Children's Villages of Illinois.
"We have done incredible work through the Baird & Warner Good Will Network this year, and I'm immensely proud of our broker associates and employees for being so dedicated to helping their local communities," said Jennifer Alter Warden, president of residential sales for Baird & Warner, Chicagoland's largest locally owned, independent residential real estate services company.
Earlier this year, the Baird & Warner Good Will Network donated $22,000 to Save the Children to assist in the relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy. The organization also gifted a total of $50,000 to five Chicago-area nonprofits chosen from a list of charities the Baird & Warner branch offices support throughout the year. Both of these grants were in addition to the almost $45,000 in donations from the local Baird & Warner branch offices.
The Baird & Warner Good Will Network seeks to provide support to local nonprofit organizations, with a focus on shelter and homelessness particularly for families and children. It is administered through the Good Will Network Fund held at the Chicago Community Trust.
