Today, U.S. Rep.
A 24-hours-a-day toll-free call center is available to help learn about both the benefits and responsibilities of the healthcare law. American families can also learn how their health care choices will be expanded.
"Today in this country, there are too many stories, rumors and fearmongering about what the Affordable Care Act means for individuals and businesses," said Cardenas. "People in my district and throughout our country can go online right now or call, free of charge, to get their personal questions answered. For those who are worried about an issue, I invite them to, please, make the call, ask your questions and learn about both the benefits and the responsibilities of this new healthcare law."
The new consumer-focused www.HealthCare.gov website - also available in Spanish at www.CuidadodeSalud.gov - and new toll-free call center, 1-800-318-2596, are designed to help Americans who are looking for health coverage prepare for open enrollment and ultimately sign up for private health insurance.
