Settlers Life Insurance Company recently announced the release of its Enhanced Point of Sale Interview Service to its agent force. Settlers Life’s President, Michael Lowe, explained that “this new tool improves the experience of agents and customers by providing an early underwriting decision during the sales presentation. Instead of mailing in the application and then waiting to see if the policy applied for will be issued, our agents and our customers can learn right away – while the agent is meeting with the customer – if the application will be approved, if it needs to be adjusted to gain acceptance, or if we cannot offer the coverage requested.”
Settlers Life’s new Enhanced Point of Sale Interview Service uses an internally designed comprehensive underwriting rules engine, together with fast, electronic links to prescription drug databases and MIB, Inc., to allow it to make the point of sale decision. The tool is intended to deliver a high level of service and initial satisfaction to the customer, reduce the need for return visits by the agent, and speed up the underwriting process. “Settlers Life’s Enhanced Point of Sale Interview is the best I have experienced,” remarked Settlers Life agent Andy Murphrey. “In most cases, even with an applicant taking several medications, this interview service takes no longer than the regular interview. The applicant usually receives an approval on the spot, giving the client the reassurance they will be covered and reassurance of the great reputation of Settlers Life and the agent.”
The Enhanced Point of Sale Interview Service is available in all of Settlers Life’s 36 states. More information about it can be obtained by contacting Settlers Life’s Agency Services staff at 800-877-6191.
