The Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service released new guidance that is “designed to expand the use of income annuities in 401(k) plans.”
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 4 -- Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, announced the following appointment:
Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed Deeia D. Beck of Austin to the Office of Public Insurance Counsel for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The office represents the interests of insurance consumers in regulatory matters relating to insurance rates, rules and forms.
Beck is the current public counsel for the Office of Public Insurance Counsel, a position she has held since her appointment in September 2008. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant and Travis County Bar associations, American Association for Justice, and National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and a life fellow of the Texas and Tarrant County Bar foundations. She is a board member of the Texas Certified Self-Insurer Guaranty Association and Texas Self Insurance Guaranty Fund, and a past member of the Tarrant County Women's Bar Association and Tarrant County Bar Journal Editorial Committee. She is also vice president of the Lakehouse Homeowner's Association and a member of the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation.
Beck received a bachelor's degree, Master of Business Administration and law degree from Baylor University.
This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
