When insurance firms launched social media initiatives, the results were rewarding.
Jan. 16--The Oklahoma City Thunder is one of five organizations recognized for its customer service by Temkin Group through the 2012 Customer Experience Excellence Awards.
Nominees were judged on two criteria: customer experience transformation efforts and results. The four other award winners include EMC, Fidelity Investments, Safelite AutoGlass and Sovereign Assurance Co. of New Zealand.
Six organizations were named finalists: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Bombardier Aerospace, Citrix, JetBlue, Microsoft and Oracle.
The variety of industries represented by the winners and finalists highlights the customer experience efforts under way across business-to-consumer and business-to-business organizations, said Temkin Group, a Massachusetts-based customer experience research and consulting firm.
Tornado summit is planned
The organizers of the National Tornado Summit will team up with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to host a new severe weather workshop at the event. The Tornado Summit will be March 10-12 in Oklahoma City at the Cox Convention Center.
This year, the summit will feature the National Severe Weather Workshop organized by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The summit also will include a free weather fair March 10 that is open to the public.
The fair will include a tornado simulator, and appearances from storm chasers and a television meteorologist. The summit is sponsored by the Oklahoma Insurance Department, Oklahoma Emergency Management, the National Weather Center, NOAA, SPC and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
