WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 -- Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., has introduced legislation (H.R. 6445) to "provide that the waiting period for disability insurance benefits shall not be applicable in the case of a recovering service member."
The bill was introduced on Sept. 20 and has four co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. David Loebsack, D-Iowa, Tom Marino, R-Pa., Allen B. West, R-Fla., and Walter B. Jones, R-N.C.
The legislation was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
