Workers expect their defined contribution plans to play a greater role in their retirement income than annuities.
Clark, NJ (PRWEB) December 04, 2012
IFA Auto Insurance announced recently a brisk and bold response to auto insurance claims in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy’s recent devastation in the state. “The majority of our auto claims have been reported and appraised, many have already been paid and closed,” noted David Walsh, President of the Low Cost Auto Insurance company headquartered in Clark, New Jersey. “While there were a tremendous amount of total auto losses due to the tidal surge, we feel confident that (remaining claims) will be adjusted and paid for in the short term.” Walsh further indicated that compared to other types of insurance companies in NJ who provide homeowner, business and flood coverage, auto insurance claims are relatively straightforward to adjust and therefore more expeditious to process.
Clearly a record-breaker for New Jersey, the destruction from Sandy appears to have easily eclipsed the losses of last year’s Hurricane Irene, but final totals will be hard to come by for some time because of the storm’s scale in size, scope and geography. AIR Worldwide, one of the three primary firms used by the insurance industry to calculate disaster exposures, indicated that Sandy is likely to have caused insured losses of anywhere from $7 billion to $15 billion. That figure excludes residential flood losses as well as subway and tunnel flooding. If AIR is correct, Sandy would rank as the third-worst hurricane in history, based on inflation-adjusted losses, according to the Insurance Information Institute.
With power up and gas shortages resolved, the biggest question remaining is who will pay for the extensive damage to individual’s homes, cars and businesses, as well as the municipal infrastructure devastation that Sandy left in its wake. “Sandy has caused tremendous damage and personal hardship for those affected,” said Walsh. For their part, the low cost insurance carrier is eager to work with customers who sustained losses, in an effort to recover from the storm’s massive destruction, and restore lives to normalcy as quickly as possible.
