The current market leaders could run into some challengers.
Protective Life Corp. announced that Michael Temple has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of the Company effective Dec. 3.
According to a release, in his role, Temple will lead the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, including risk culture and governance, modeling, and risk reporting. He will be a member of the Company's executive leadership team, reporting to Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer John D. Johns.
Temple most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Unum Group in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has more than twenty-seven years of total experience in a variety of capacities in the life and health insurance industry with the most recent seven years as Chief Risk Officer at Unum.
"Mike's depth of knowledge and understanding of our industry will be a great asset to Protective as we continue to evolve and strengthen our Enterprise Risk Management," said Johns. "We are delighted to have him on the senior executive leadership team."
