Albany, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2012
In 1978, the Law Offices of Edward P. Ryan opened its doors to Albany clients in many areas of law, focusing primarily on personal injury, Social Security disability and general business cases. Several years into his practice, Ed Ryan formed a working relationship with Attorney Jack Casey to address appeals at the state and federal level. Today, Ryan and Casey reflect on two decades of work together that has proven beneficial for their clients.
Ryan and Casey's professional relationship stretches back to their time as students at LaSalle Institute in Troy, New York. Ed went on to Siena, served as an Army officer and then graduated from Fordham University'sSchool of Law while Jack graduated from Yale University and Albany Law School. Casey quickly displayed an aptitude for in-depth research, a skill that he would carry over into his post-graduate practice. "Jack is a skillful researcher and an outstanding writer," Ryan lauds. "Simply stated, in my opinion, he is the best appellate attorney in this area."
"Ed and I compliment each other," Casey states. Ryan has accumulated decades of experience representing clients from the beginning of the case through settlement or verdict while Casey's fervor is with research, motions and appeals.
Ryan and Casey highlight a particular case from the 1990's that proved the formidability of their respective roles. A Federal Court jury in Syracuse returned one of the largest verdicts rendered there up to that time against a multinational retailer corporation to compensate Ryan's client after a boat seat fell from a high shelf striking the plaintiff, causing serious neck and back injuries. The corporation then appealed to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City. With Casey on the Appellate Brief and Ryan at oral argument the jury verdict was affirmed with interest. More recently two cases of approximately one million dollars apiece, one by verdict and the other by settlement, resulted from their joint efforts.
The Law Offices of Edward P. Ryan continues to represent individuals injured due to the negligence of others, taking cases to trial when an adequate settlement is not offered. Their efforts have facilitated many notable victories over twenty years and they look forward to continued success on behalf of their clients.
