Madison, WI (PRWEB) June 15, 2012

WPS Health Insurance, Wisconsin’s leading not-for-profit health insurer and provider of affordable group and individual health insurance, is sponsoring VSA Wisconsin’s 15th Annual Golf Exhibition to be held Monday, June 18 at the Cherokee Country Club in Madison. The event features Steve Stricker, top-ranked professional golfer and Madison resident, and supports VSA Wisconsin’s mission to make a positive impact on the lives of children and adults with disabilities through participation in the arts. A nine-hole golf exhibition at 9 a.m. will be followed immediately by a luncheon (approximately 11:30) featuring VSA Wisconsin participants, a silent and live auction of sports memorabilia and other special items, plus a Q&A session with Stricker.

All of the proceeds from this event go to the VSA Art Center in Madison. Established in 1997, the VSA Art Center provides individual and group classes for children and adults with disabilities. Classes give individuals with disabilities an opportunity to meet new friends, participate in activities outside of home and work, and experience the arts.

Jim Riordan, president and chief executive officer emeritus of WPS, also serves as chair of the board of directors at VSA Wisconsin. “Participation in the arts stimulates the senses and lifts the human spirit,” Riordan said. “As proud sponsor of this event, WPS Health Insurance is pleased to support VSA Wisconsin in its mission to celebrate the creative power and artistic accomplishments of children and adults with disabilities.”

As an active sponsor of local community organizations, WPS has supported VSA Wisconsin since 1985 and has been a major sponsor of the golf exhibition every year since the event began. WPS offers financial backing to VSA Wisconsin for innovative new programs, professional expertise in the areas of technology, marketing and printing, and volunteer support for many activities, from fairs to fundraisers.
