Record Attendance Ensured For LIDMA’s 2008 Fall Meeting & Showcase

-Themed “Life in the Fast Lane,” The 5th Annual LIDMA Fall Meeting & Showcase to be Held in New Orleans October 6th thru 9th  –

ATLANTA, GA –  September 23, 2008  -- Advanced registration for The Life Insurance Direct Marketing Association’s (LIDMA) upcoming 5th annual Fall Meeting & Showcase  to be held October 6th through October 9th at the Hilton Riverfront Hotel in New Orleans has already exceeded attendance from previous years.  The announcement was made by Pat Wedeking, President of LIDMA.

Over one hundred attendees from more than 50 organizations have already registered for the event with more anticipated to follow.

According to Wedeking, the current economic environment is driving new companies and producers to LIDMA and its annual Fall Meeting & Showcase.

“More than ever consumers are watching their expenses while at the same time being worried about the safety and adequacy of the financial futures of their families,” said Wedeking.  “These factors and more continue to fuel the growth of direct response selling of life insurance which is the focus of LIDMA. More and more business and professionals in our industry understand that they need to maximize their direct selling efforts and LIDMA provides them with everything they need to boost their business.”

Themed “Life in the Fast Lane,” some of the expert presenters at the Fall Meeting & Showcase include:

Rick Hollar, President and CEO, Life Profit Center, AIG American General – Hollar heads AIG American General’s domestic life insurance business.  Hollar will provide guests with a state of industry report.

Mandy Gardiner, Financial Services Vertical Sales Manager, Google Gardiner works on national sales strategy, operations and sales support for Google.   Her presentation is titled “Digital Marketing Trends: Leverage the Speed of the Digital Market to Grow Your Business.”

Dan Coen, President, Call Center Today Coen is a top authority on direct marketing and call center operations.  A national best-selling author, he will provide attendees with the “6 Keys to Call Center Success.”

Robert (Bob) Baranoff, Sr. VP,  LIMRA – Baranoff manages LIMRA global research program and will provide attendees with data regarding the state of the Life Insurance Industry including opportunities for growth and upcoming challenges.

LIDMA is the only association dedicated to supporting businesses and professionals active in the direct sale of life insurance products to consumers – the fastest growing sales segment in the life insurance industry.  A not-for-profit organization, LIDMA is committed to helping members increase revenues derived through direct response sales as well as assist new entrants into the segment in their direct response efforts.  Members of LIDMA include top industry carriers, agencies, producers, exam companies and technology vendors.

New at the Fall Meeting & Showcase is a compliance workshop put on by some of the top authorities in insurance eContracts which will be held prior to the general sessions.  Pat Hatfield and Brian Casey from Locke Lord Bissell and Liddell law firm will lead the discussion. 

This year’s Fall Meeting & Showcase will also feature presentations from other top direct response producers and executives on such topics as new technologies including the phased implementation of new LIDMA E-Process.

“The agenda of this year’s event delivers value to both large and smaller sized marketers as well as exam companies, insurance companies and our other key business partners that are fueling the growth of our industry,” said Wedeking.  “Each year our attendees are excited about leaving with information and tools they can use immediately in their business.”

Attendance at the Fall Meeting & Showcase is available only to LIDMA members. 

In an effort to afford broader participation, in addition to LIDMA members, registration is open this year to first-time Direct Marketer attendees at a low price of $999, which can be applied to a new LIDMA membership for thirty days after the event.
