Let me see if I have this straight. Those of us who ride our 100 mpg scooters to the grocery store are the latest targets of government regulators.
A state legislator (who happens to be a Nationwide insurance agent) proposes legislation to require registration and insurance of mopeds and scooters in Maryland.
When did this bill pass our General Assembly? Did anyone question the motives of the bill's sponsor to insure scooters, or question the motives of the government to control yet another aspect of our lives? Another insurance executive projects that it will cost a minimum of $100 to ensure a scooter ... a scooter! At that cost, I'll probably just drive my SUV to the grocery store.
Good job, General Assembly. Where was The Capital in keeping us informed on this proposed legislation?
