AmeriHealth NJ today announced that Michael Ruiz de Somocurcio has been
promoted to vice president of contracting and reimbursement.
In his role, role Ruiz de Somocurcio will continue to lead AmeriHealth
NJ’s contracting efforts with all hospitals, physicians and ancillary
providers and oversee the establishment and implementation of baseline
reimbursement models, strategies, and innovative provider
pay-for-performance programs. Previously, Ruiz de Somocurcio was
director of contracting and reimbursement.

established and maintained positive and productive relationships with
providers, which has led to a significant growth in our provider network

Prior to AmeriHealth NJ, Ruiz de Somocurcio was assistant director of
network contracting for Cigna where he was responsible for negotiating
and executing contracts with New York hospitals, ancillary providers and
physicians.
Ruiz de Somocurcio holds an MBA in management from Rutgers University.
He also sits on the board of the Healthcare Financial Management
Association.
