July 13--Laurie Bebo, the former chief executive of Assisted Living Concepts who was fired on May 29, is suing the company, alleging that it has ignored her requests for company records and not compensated her for expenses incurred during an internal investigation.

In a lawsuit filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court, Bebo is seeking copies of minutes and other material sent to directors, including any documents for any meeting held in 2012 at which Bebo was not present.

She also requested a copy of the company's insurance policy for directors and officers.

The lawsuit also contends that Assisted Living Concepts' bylaws require the company to indemnify Bebo for expenses incurred from an internal investigation begun on May 4.

Assisted Living Concepts, based in Menomonee Falls, operates 211 assisted living centers in 20 states.

Regulators in Idaho, Georgia, Indiana and other states in the past year have cited the company's centers for substandard care, including not hiring enough staff to ensure patients' safety.
