With power lines and trees down throughout the Mid-Atlantic region following storms, GEICO said that it has moved in a Catastrophe Claims Team (CAT) to assist policyholders.
In a release, the Company said that it urges policyholders to report their claims as early as possible. To reach a claims team anytime, 24 hours a day, please access GEICO's website at geico.com or call 1-800-841-3000 to report a claim. Policyholders will be advised where to bring their vehicle for an assessment of the damages or how to schedule a visit from a GEICO adjuster.
"After this devastating storm and with temperatures soaring to record highs, we're doing everything we can to try to lighten the burden on our policyholders," said Nancy Pierce, GEICO's regional VP. "We're ready and willing to help out any way we can."
To ensure the safety of its policyholders, GEICO said that it encourages residents to get in touch with their local authorities to find more information regarding temporary housing, school cancellations and other pertinent information. If a vehicle has been damaged by the recent storms, especially if windows are broken, GEICO recommends covering it with plastic or other material to protect it from further damage.
GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and is A private passenger auto insurer in the U.S.
