WASHINGTON, July 2 -- Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif., has introduced legislation (H.R. 6034) to "provide for the establishment of a task force to conduct a study to analyze the challenges faced by agricultural areas and rural communities designated as an area having special flood hazards for purposes of the National Flood Insurance Program."
The bill was introduced on June 27 and has five co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Daniel E. Lungren, R-Calif., Laura Richardson, D-Calif., David Loebsack, D-Iowa, Fortney "Pete" Stark, D-Calif., and Mike Thompson, D-Calif.
The legislation was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
