Idaho Isn't Alone In Insurance Exchange Quandary

BOISE, Idaho -- Idaho faces a looming, potentially impossible-to-meet Nov. 16 deadline to inform the federal government of its plan for an insurance exchange, a key provision of President Obama's health care overhaul.

But Idaho is by no means the only state to drag its heels on an online insurance marketplace, in the now-doomed hope U.S. Supreme Court justices would simply chuck out the disputed law.

In Kansas, the question over an exchange is now dividing the state's GOP governor, who wants to wait, from the GOP insurance commissioner.

Much like Idaho, Texas Gov. Rick Perry is considering his options over whether to push an exchange.

And Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal wants to wait until after the November elections.

This is a marked contrast to Democratic-leaning states, where exchanges are moving ahead.
