June 28--Highmark spokesman Aaron Billger this morning released the following statement on the Supreme Court ruling regarding the Affordable Care Act, on behalf of the insurance company:

"Highmark will continue to move steadily forward with implementing the Affordable Care Act and with helping our customers and members to understand what health-care reform means to them.

"We remain committed to offering our members and group customers the security and peace of mind that go hand-in-hand with having access to affordable, high quality health coverage.

"While reform will expand access to health coverage through various means, the cost of health care remains a serious issue. We believe that much more needs to be done across the health-care system and through public policy to improve quality and control the spiraling cost of care.

"To that end, Highmark continues to provide leadership on delivery system reforms that promote prevention and wellness; that help patients and physicians manage chronic disease; that reward quality care; and that realign payment to providers by promoting the most appropriate care in the most appropriate setting."
