Hub International Limited, an insurance brokerage firm, reported that its new website, hubinternational.com, has won both the Communicator and Interactive Media awards for web design in the insurance category.

Developed by Marcel Media, the website's strategy focused on simplifying the user experience and increasing engagement, the firm noted in a release.

According to a release, the Communicator Award is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of Visual Arts that includes executives from, Disney, Lockheed Martin, Pitney Bowes, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Time, Inc, Wired, and Yahoo!

The Interactive Media Award represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. Judges include leaders from American Express, CNNmoney.com, Microsoft, Ogilvy & Mather and Time Warner Inc.

"We provide Hub with online marketing services, including Search Engine Optimization, and have developed a deep understanding of their audience," says Kelly Cutler, Marcel Media CEO. She adds, "Through enhanced analytics we identified areas to enhance the design, improve usability, and increase conversions."

Analytics show consistent improvement. Pages viewed per visit have dropped 66 percent, indicating users are quickly finding desired information. Additionally, time spent on the site has increased by 16 percent and the drop-off rate has decreased by 48 percent. The re-design has also produced a 200 percent increase in lead conversions.

"Marcel Media presented and delivered a strategic plan that improved the user experience," says Nancy Gospo, VP of Product Distribution & Marketing for Hub International Limited. "The re- design makes it easier for users to engage with Hub and find the information they need. We look forward to rolling out additional enhancements that will establish the site as industry-leading."
