Rep. Pearce Introduces Bill to Waive Waiting Period for Flood Insurance Policies for Wildfire Affected Private Property

WASHINGTON, June 26 -- Rep. Stevan Pearce, R-N.M., has introduced legislation (H.R. 6017) to "authorize the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to waive the 30-day waiting period for flood insurance policies purchased for private properties affected by wildfire on Federal lands."

The bill was introduced on June 25 and has two co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., and Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M.

The legislation was referred to the House Financial Services Committee.
